Joshua Project
International Messengers Canada Joshua Project

The Joshua Project serves Romanian children and families affected by HIV/AIDS.

Many people think the Joshua Project ministers to Romanian children dying from HIV/AIDS. That’s a misnomer. It actually serves children and families living with HIV/AIDS!

Our goal is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with every individual within this demographic. Your prayers, financial donations, and participation will help us reach this goal. Will you partner with us to bring hope to these precious people?

Needs addressed in various ways:

  • Day Center— A central facility and loving environment where children/families receive biblical counseling, Bible teaching and prayer, material support, basic medical care, dental care, and much more.
  • Camp Outreach— A ten-day trip consisting of a five-day camp filled with fellowship, games and crafts, and teaching from the Word of God. It also includes service opportunities at the Day Center and in surrounding communities.
  • Dental Office—The Day Center holds a fully-functioning dental office that provides care to the children and youth we serve. Healthy teeth and gums matter, especially to those with compromised immune systems.
  • Church Planting— Since most churches do not welcome the infected, a local youth group conducts church services at the Day Center.
  • Open Hearts Ministry—Provides clothes, food, books, medical supplies, and educational materials about HIV/AIDS to the poor, hungry, and sick.
How You Can Help
How It All Began

In 1989, the Communist Party was overthrown in Romania. The world rejoiced in Romania’s new-found freedom and began sending humanitarian aid into the country. This included food, clothing, and medical supplies.

Among the medical supplies were blood products to be used in hospitals, clinics, and orphanages. Unfortunately, blood screening was not common practice in those days. So, even though the Romanian people had found freedom, a new enemy began sneaking its way into the lives of thousands of innocent children.

This new enemy was HIV/AIDS!

In 1999, Tresha Inglis met Claudia Udrea in a tram stop in Timisoara, Romania. The women immediately developed a friendship and began ministering to HIV/AIDS-infected children in two infectious disease hospitals. The conditions of the hospitals were deplorable and supplies limited to the rich. Lack of education and training for staff, families, and caregivers caused these children to be abused, abandoned, and left for dead.

But God had other plans. That’s when the Joshua Project was born.
